So obviously I have gone on yet another hiatus. I am glad to be back though and wanted to share my new year's resolutions even though they are a bit late and catch you up on what I have been up to the last month or so!
December 13 was our 2 year anniversary- can't believe it has already been that long and at the same time it seems like we have been married longer. Can't really explain that. It has been the best 2 years of my life, I am so blessed to be married to a man who loves the Lord first, which makes him love me in a way I never knew was possible. Faults, extra pounds and all of my weirdness- I am so blessed. Anniversaries always make you look back on the beginning and how far you have come- our anniversary always makes me remember who I was before Ryan, which is not something I like to think of very often. A few words that come to mind are: confused, distant from God, insecure-this is an understatement, incomplete. When I first met Ryan I had recently decided to take a hiatus from dating and figure out who I was and where I went wrong with my relationship with God. Thankfully Phi Lamb granted me some amazing, Godly girls who led me back to the Lord and also to Ryan. I have said it before but when I saw Ryan I unexplainably knew he was it for me. Once we started becoming friends I thought that I was unworthy of being with such a Godly guy. I had dated Christian guys before but Ryan knew he wanted to do ministry and obviously loved the Lord more than any other guy I knew. It was amazing just to see a glimpse of how passionate he was about serving the Lord. I remember thinking once we started dating that I didn't deserve him and that one day he would wake up and realize he could do better. As cheesy as it sounds every morning I get to wake-up being married to him is another day I don't deserve but I am so THANKFUL the Lord has given him to me to guide me, make me laugh and love me unconditionally and so completely. I don't know why God chose me to be with him but i hope that I will never take him for grantit and that we will continue to lift each other up and closer to the Lord. The past 8 months being apart of his ministry has been such a blast and a serious season of growth for us both. Okay, i will stop with the cheese now... next subject.
Christmas was great, we spent a few days in Dallas and then got to actually wake-up at our own house Christmas morning for the 1st time since we have been married. LOVED IT. This was by far the most relaxing Christmas we have had since marriage, the week after Christmas we went on a mini vacation to San Antonio- it was so fun! We hit all of the tourist spots, Alamo, Wax Museum, River Walk and shopping. We stayed at one of my favorite hotels- Hotel Valencia. We ate tons of great mexican food, ordered room service dessert in the middle of the night and did alot of laughing. It was great to just get away for a few days by ourselves.
New Years was so fun this year as well! We hung out with our small group and had great food, a white elephant gift exchange- I got Crate and Barrel glasses and Champagne- definately lucked out!! We stayed up until all hours of the night just hanging out and having fun- we are so thankful for our new friendships, its great having people who are in the same chapter in life! Don't get me wrong, all of my friends are amazing no matter what chapter of life they are in but its important to have ones to talk about newlywed life etc!
Speaking of New Years, here are a few of my resolutions!
1. Loose weight. 2010 held alot of weight gain for me. Between taking all sorts of meds for my migrains that had weight gain as a side effect and switching to a stay at home job, struggling with lonliness and just not being as healthy as I have been in the past I have a long way to go! I am also worried that I might be experiencing some thyroid problems. I am going to be going to the doctor soon to find out a status- hopefully it won't be the case! I am back on WW and Ryan and I are starting to exercise as much as possible.
2. Run. We are planning to do the Warrior Dash in March, we have not signed-up yet simply because we want to make sure we can run at least a mile without stopping before paying all of that money and Ryan has had a foot injury that we finally got an xray on today from Judo. We want to make sure there are no broken bones before we start into full blown training.
3. Save more money. We have been blessed that we are living comfortably. We were very conservative with the home we bought so that we could try to become debt free in the next few years and start some serious saving so that in a few years we will have enough money for a down payment for a larger house for when we want to have kids. The problem is that sometimes it's hard saving because we want to travel and do fun things all the time but we have decided to make a conscious effort to save as much as possible.
What are your new year's resolutions?? I would love to hear them! Also, any advice on running would be much appreciated!!

San Antonio sounded like so much fun. I have always wanted to order room service in the middle of the night! That Warrior Dash sounds awesome! I just looked it up & am going to talk to Lane about it.=:)
